AGRICULTURE RESOURCE ADVISORY BOARD

MISSION STATEMENT

To act as a technical advisory board on agricultural matters with the goal of sustaining and enhancing agricultural production in Inyo County.

DUTIES

To provide advice and recommendations to the Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission and other County agencies regarding agricultural issues.

MEMBERS

There are 7 appointed members as follows:

1 – President of the Inyo/Mono Farm Bureau or their appointee

1 – President of the Inyo/Mono Cattleman’s Association or their appointee

1 – Los Angeles Department of Water and Power lessee

1 – Chair of the Resource Conservation District or their appointee

1 – Tri-County Fair Board Chair or their appointee

1 – Community Business at large

1 – Chamber of Commerce Member or their appointee rotating between Bishop, Big Pine,

Independence, and Lone Pine

Ex-officio members as follows:

1 – Member of the Board of Supervisors

1 – Los Angeles Department of Water and Power

1 – Bureau of Land Management

1 – Inyo National Forest

1 – Inyo County Sheriff Department

1 – California Department of Fish and Game

1 – University of California Cooperative Extension

1 – Natural Resource Conservation Service

1 – 4-H Club

1 – FFA Club

TERM

3 years; Chamber of Commerce 1-year rotating chair.

MEETINGS

Meetings will be held quarterly or as needed at various locations. Meeting times and locations will be posted as soon as they are confirmed by the Agriculture Resource Advisory Board members.
